Job Description

Telephonics' After Hours Representative to the USCG and other Commercial Vendors performing aircraft modifications in the Telephonics Hangar. Direct USCG interface to enable "Second Shift" Aircraft Upgrade Operations. Duties focus on contract compliance and adherence to Telephonics Policies including Hangar Operations, Safety, Environmental, HAZAMAT, Spill Prevention and Facility Security. Additional duties may include support functions as directed to include repair and modification of aircraft avionics and electrical systems.

+ Operates avionics ground support equipment

+ Troubleshoots equipment by subjecting it to a variety of simple diagnostic tests to determine the cause of operational failure.

+ Reconstructs or replaces defective parts as required. Adjusts mechanical parts.

+ Reviews all engineering change notices related to the design and operation of the equipment.

+ Aligns, adjusts, and calibrates equipment according to specifications.

+ Applies new paint or other coatings to equipment components.

+ Tests the equipment to documented performance standards.

+ Maintains records of repairs, calibrations, and tests on a computer database system.

+ Supports product investigations by providing technical assistance to Production, Test, Field Service and Engineering departments.

+ Performs other duties as directed.

+ Ensure adherence of group to existing processes.

+ Ensure technical risk is identified and managed.

+ Ensure group/equipment staffing requirements are managed and reported.

+ Departmental and company process development and improvement.

+ Ensure that staff skills are developed to appropriate level for assigned tasks.

Required Skills

EDUCATION: Associates Degree in Electronics or equivalent civilian/military experience.

EXPERIENCE: 5-10years

OTHER: Skilled in the use of hand tools.

Required Skills:

Must possess a strong background in aircraft avionics modifications and/or avionics repair capabilities. Past experience in USCG aircraft maintenance /modification procedures and processes is desired but not essential.
